Tifa's eyes

Postby Ness » Tue Sep 29, 2009 9:51 pm

As some of you know when I first got Tifa after about a week her left eye had a strange gap. the vet put it down to being glacoma.

yesterday her left eye was completely shut, this happens every so often so I used the eye gel I had got from the vets and about 30mins later it was ok. I've been checker on her since then and it seemed ok untill just now.

Both eyes are almost completely shut and the right eye has blood around it, shes walking about but dont seem too strong.

I'm feeding her a bit of baby food on a spoon.

I'm not completely sure on what to do, I'm doubting the vet can do much as since last year they have told me that they dont know much about rodent care.

Hiya Ness,

i am sorry that Tifa ill, but i am sorry i havent heard anything anbout this condition before.

If i was you i think i would probably try and find a new vet - i know this might be difficult, but i think it is the best thing all round, as you could have a more serious problem at a later date and require immediate and experienced help - but i dont think you are going to get this from your current vet.

Her current condition does sound quite serious, so i really would try to get her to an experienced vet.

Good Luck, i hope she gets better soon - keep us posted

Tifa passed away tuesday night.

both eyes were completely shut about an hour before she went, and she was finding it hard to walk about. I moved her into a travel case as i felt it was best to restrict her walking as she was finding it so hard.

I was impressed on how much she seemed to be fighting to stay a live, but sadly she was just too ill. :(
